Services

Research Assistance

We can help you find online and print resources to support your course assignments. You can reach us in-person or via email, text, phone, or chat. For immediate assistance, select the Chat 24/7 button at the top of our website. For less urgent requests, email us, and we will respond within 24 business hours or make an appointment.

Getting & Returning Materials

Alternative Pick-Up Person

You may designate individuals to checkout and pick up materials on your behalf. To add a pick-up person to your account, contact us.

Free Mailing

If you are unable to get to campus, we will mail materials to your home address for free. Contact us to request that items be mailed to your home. Students and faculty are responsible for returning materials. For more information, see our mailing services.

Shelf Assistance

We can help you find and retrieve physical items on the shelves upon request. To guarantee materials are available, place a hold request for your desired items.

Scanning Chapters and Articles

We can scan and email book chapters and print journals to you upon request, as allowed by copyright law. If you need an OCR version, include that information when you contact us.

Alternative Formats

If we do not own your preferred format, you can request it through interlibrary loan. We will try to locate and borrow large print editions of books and journals, audiobooks, and other accessible formats if requested by students, staff, or faculty. On average, we email articles to your Saint Mary’s Gmail account within two days, and books arrive within 3-5 days. To check the status of your request, go to your library account.
