Removing SuperSearch from Your Browser

Forever done searching the Saint Mary’s Libraries directly from your browser? Learn how to remove the SuperSearch browser tool from your internet browser below.

Google Chrome

  1. In the upper-right corner of your browser, select the menu icon Google Chrome Settings Icon and select Settings.
  2. Scroll to Search engines.
  3. Select the Manage search engines and site search button.
  4. Scroll down to the section Site search.
  5. Select the menu icon Google Chrome Settings Icon next to SuperSearch in the list of search engines.
  6. Select Delete to delete the SuperSearch browser tool.
  7. Close the window/tab.

Mozilla Firefox

  1. In the upper-right corner of your browser, select the menu icon Firefox Menu Icon and select Settings.
  2. Select Search from the left-hand menu.
  3. Scroll to the Search shortcuts section.
  4. Select the SuperSearch row.
  5. Select the Remove button to delete SuperSearch from your browser.
  6. Close the window/tab.

Microsoft Edge

  1. In the upper-right corner of your browser, select the menu icon Edge Menu Icon and select Settings.
  2. In the left-hand menu, select the link Privacy, search, and services.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Address bar and search.
  4. Select the Manage search engines button.
  5. Select the menu icon Edge Menu Icon next to SuperSearch in the list of search engines.
  6. Select Remove to remove SuperSearch from your browser.
  7. Close the window/tab.

Apple Safari

  1. Open Safari’s Preferences… menu.
  2. Select the Search icon.
  3. Select the Manage Websites… button.
  4. Select lib.smumn.edu from the list of searchable websites.
  5. Select the Remove button.
  6. Close the window/tab.

    Note: Safari automatically adds a website to your list when you visit and it detects that the site is searchable. Each time you revisit the library website, Safari might add SuperSearch back into your list. We’re sorry about this inconvenience. Safari thinks it’s being helpful, and there’s nothing we can do to convince it otherwise.
