eBook FAQs

What happens to a downloaded book at the end of the checkout period?
According to our eBook vendor, “No, after an eBook checkout has expired, the downloaded eBook file can still be found in Digital Editions but cannot be opened. You must manually delete the file from Digital Editions to remove it from your computer. Note: This also applies to any portable devices (such as Apple or Android devices) to which you have transferred the eBook.”

Where did my notes go?
You can add notes to any eBook. However, take note! Notes disappear at the end of the checkout period, so print them prior to the due date. Note printouts contain each note and its corresponding page number.

I returned or deleted my eBook from Bluefire Reader and can’t redownload it.
Uh oh. Bluefire Productions say this error is a known issue within the app. Their development team is currently working to correct the problem (January 2015). While they are hopeful to see an improvement in this area in a future update of the app, no timetable has been set for this update’s development or release. So, in the meantime, when in doubt, hold on to your eBooks. If you really need to read the eBook, you should be able to access it on a different device.
